All our willow coffins are handmade in our workshop in Stoke St. Gregory, Somerset. If you require a bespoke coffine please call to discuss your requirements. As all our coffins are handmade we can accommodate most sizes and adapt the shapes as necessary. Our coffins are made from willow on 16mm thick plywood base for smooth handling. To find out more about how willow is grown visit our Sustainability section.
Our standard sizes are 5'6" to 6'4'' high and the standard width across the shoulders is 22". All measurements are internal.
English WIllow Coffins offer four colour options and the choice of a contrasting willow band.
Buff willow is boiled and stripped of it's bark, leaving a buff (orange brown) colour.
White willow is freshly cut and left to stand in water until sap rises(about 3 months until early spring). It is stripped without boiling to leave white colour.
Green willow is dried green willow and is olive green in colour. The bark remains in place.
Brown (Steamed) willow is steamed for 2 hours, giving a very dark brown, plain chocolate colour.
Please note: colours may vary on different computer screens.
